Ao-urushi (青漆 [ao-urushi])

Ao-urushi is colored urushi formulated to read blue/blue-green. It is usually made by tinting clear lacquer (透き漆 [suki-urushi]) with dyes or pigments compatible with urushi curing. The hallmark of good ao-urushi is clarity and stable curing without cloudiness or uneven color development.
