Kashu

Kashu is the common Japanese label for cashew lacquer, a synthetic resin finish used as a practical lacquer-like coating. It can imitate some visual qualities of urushi, but it is not natural urushi: its curing chemistry, aging, repair behavior, and working properties are different.
