Kirigane

Kirigane is decoration using tiny cut pieces of metal foil, often gold or silver, placed into lacquer as geometric accents or sparkling detail. The pieces must be handled precisely and sealed carefully so they remain flat, aligned, and visually sharp after later lacquer layers and polishing.
