Hakushita-urushi

Hakushita-urushi is a pale or light-toned processed lacquer used when the maker wants less darkening from the lacquer itself. It is useful under lighter colors, pale pigments, or finishes where maintaining brightness matters. Like other clear lacquers, its behavior depends on source, processing, and layer thickness.
