Uwa-nuri is the upper or final lacquer coating stage after foundation and intermediate layers. These coats form the visible surface of the work, so they demand clean lacquer, careful filtering, controlled humidity, and good dust management. In polished finishes, uwa-nuri sets the quality of the later leveling and gloss work.
