Bake (刷毛 [hake] / バケ [bake])

Bake is a colloquial or alternate label for a brush used in coating work, including urushi application. In lacquer practice, brush choice affects flow, leveling, stroke visibility, and contamination risk. Like hake, a bake should be cleaned carefully, protected from dust, and prepared properly before use.
