Hake

Hake is a Japanese brush used for applying urushi and related coatings. Brush width, hair type, stiffness, and oil cleaning all affect flow, leveling, stroke visibility, and contamination risk. A good hake is treated as a precision tool: cleaned carefully, stored protected from dust, and de-oiled before use.
