Sabi-urushi

Sabi-urushi is a fine filling or surfacing paste made from urushi mixed with fine powder such as tonoko. It is used to fill pores, level small defects, and refine foundation layers before later lacquer coats. Well-made sabi should spread smoothly, cure reliably, and sand cleanly without crumbling or dragging.
