Koshiki
Koshiki is a hand-operated urushi filtering tool used with yoshino-gami. Instead of twisting the filtering paper by hand, lacquer wrapped in yoshino-gami is pressed through the fibers by the tool, removing skins, dust, and coarse particles.
In my workflow it starts to make sense when filtering larger batches, roughly above 30 g of lacquer; below that, hand-filtering with yoshino-gami is usually faster and easier to clean up.
